Marlette Michigan
Huacaya Alpacas
at Hager Farm. A Southeast Michigan centennial farm that is now a
fully functioning alpaca farm. Our alpaca farm
is located in the center of Michigan's Thumb approximately 80 miles
north of Detroit.
Our motto is “Integrity, Excellence, Dedication”. We would not want to
do business any other way! We are passionate about our animals and the
industry and are committed to purchasing and breeding the highest
quality alpacas. Our family loves alpacas and we are committed to making
a mark with integrity, honesty, education, and quality service. We love
to spend hands-on time with them which ensures calm alpacas.
Our herd currently consists of 17 females and 6 herdsires. All of our animals are full Peruvian. We are excited about
the herdsires that we have and expect great things from them! We will
continue to expand our herd and strive for the best conformation and
fiber.
Elaine
has always been creative with fabrics and yarns. She is learning to card
and spin the fiber and is creating unique articles of clothing such as
scarves and baby hats. She is dreaming of a farm store in the near
future.
We are members of AOBA (Alpaca Owners & Breeders Association), GLAA
(Great Lakes Alpaca Association), and AFCNA (American Fiber Coop of
North America). Elaine has also volunteered to work with a group of
alpaca farmers to form a Michigan Breeders group. All of our animals are
registered with ARI (Alpaca Registry, Inc).
